Speakvora vs ElevenLabs
ElevenLabs is the full-featured voice platform. If you need the widest range of expressive voices and languages, that is its strength. This page is about the other situation: lots of short, repeated messages where you should not pay a premium rate every time.
Short answer. Use ElevenLabs when voice quality and breadth are what customers notice. Use Speakvora when you speak the same operational lines over and over and the bill, not the last 10% of expressiveness, is the constraint.
The price, read carefully
ElevenLabs lists text to speech per 1,000 characters on its API pricing page: Flash/Turbo $0.04, v2 Multilingual and v3 $0.08, and v4 at $0.022 as a promotion (72% off until 12 October 2026, list $0.08). Per million characters that is $40 for Flash and $80 for the multilingual models. Speakvora's catalog voices are $0.70 per million, about 98% below Flash and 99% below the $80 models at list price.
ElevenLabs also sells monthly plans (Free, $6, $22, $99, $299, $990, Enterprise) with an included character allowance. The page we read does not label the allowance for every row, so we do not convert plans into a per-character price. The comparison here uses the pay-as-you-go per-1,000 rates.
Speech to text: Scribe v2 is $0.22 per hour (about $0.0037 per minute) and the realtime variant $0.39 per hour (about $0.0065 per minute), against Speakvora's $0.0015 per minute. Agents are $0.08 per minute at ElevenLabs; Speakvora's $10 per 1,000 turns is a different unit and we do not convert it.

Three situations, three different answers
A clinic kiosk that says 'Please take a seat in the waiting room' hundreds of times a day
That sentence is already recorded in Speakvora's phrase library, and downloaded pack audio costs nothing per play. With a per-character API you pay each time you synthesise, unless you store the audio yourself and the provider's terms allow it (check the terms; we did not find a caching statement on ElevenLabs' pricing page).
A game with 40 characters, each needing a distinct emotive voice
This is ElevenLabs territory. Speakvora has 12 live catalog voices and a private-preview style feature that is not enabled in production. We would not recommend switching.
A startup spending $400 a month generating short notifications at the $80 rate
At the same character count, Speakvora's catalog rate would be about $3.50. The difference funds a lot of experiments, but you must listen to our voices first: the models are different and so is the sound.
What we did not find at ElevenLabs
- Curated industry phrase packs with stable phrase identifiers
- A downloadable, ready-generated industry audio catalog
- Voice cloning plan restrictions (not stated on the pricing page reviewed)
"Not found" means we did not see it in the official material reviewed. It is not a claim that the provider lacks it.
What we are not claiming
We have not benchmarked audio quality, accuracy or uptime against ElevenLabs. Speakvora has no SLA and is in early access with billing is live. Our own timings are on the speed page, with the method.
Questions people ask
Is there a cheaper alternative to ElevenLabs?
For short, repeated, English operational prompts, Speakvora lists catalog voices at $0.70 per million characters against $40 to $80 for the ElevenLabs models we compared. Quality and language coverage differ, so listen on the voices page before deciding.
Does Speakvora clone voices like ElevenLabs?
Speakvora lets you record, upload or describe a voice and use it through the API at $6 per million characters. English is supported, French and German are beta, and four other languages are not offered. ElevenLabs' cloning terms by plan were not stated on the pricing page we read.
Does Speakvora have as many languages?
No. Seven languages have catalog clips today and the library and packs are English-first. ElevenLabs lists 70+ to 90+ depending on the model.
Can I use both?
Yes: premium expressive voices from ElevenLabs where they matter, and Speakvora's phrase library and catalog voices for the high-volume operational lines.
