Home status
Safety alerts need their own path. Spoken lines are convenient, not a certified alarm. A water-leak or intruder alert must also reach people through your alarm provider's approved channels.
Numbers. Battery levels and durations exist for common values; for others, generate the sentence live (digits are fine in English) or show the value on screen.
Offline. A device that must speak without a network should ship stored audio of its fixed lines and use the API only for new sentences.

Is it fast enough for a button press?
Library lines return in about a tenth of a second in our tests; new sentences take longer. See the speed page.
