Fixed versus variable. "Your delivery is on its way" is fixed and exists as audio. "Your delivery arrives Tuesday between two and four" contains values. Generate that sentence live; at the $0.70 per million rate a 55-character notification costs about $0.0000385 at list price.
Cost sketch: 100,000 notifications a month at 45 characters average is 4.5 million characters, or $3.15 at list price on Speakvora. The same character count is $67.50 at tts-1's $15 per million and $360 at ElevenLabs' $80 per million (different models; cost only; free allowances and caching ignored).
Do not play a status you have not confirmed. The audio says what you tell it to say; wire each line to a real event in your system.

How fast is a brand-new notification?
In our 2026-10-08 production run a new sentence took about one second with a warm GPU worker and several seconds without one; see the speed page. Pre-generate with /v1/prepare if you need it ready in advance.
