Use your own voice through the API

Create a voice in the portal, wait until it is ready, and speak with its cv_ id.

  1. In the portal, open Make your own voice, record, upload (10 to 60 seconds) or describe a voice, and confirm you have the right to use it.
  2. Wait for the status ready. The portal speaks a test sentence with the voice before it is marked ready.
  3. Copy the voice id (it starts with cv_).

What to expect

  • English is supported; French and German are beta. Other languages are not offered for custom voices.
  • A new sentence takes a couple of seconds in our tests; a repeat is quicker. Timings are observations, not guarantees.
  • Private audio is stored only after a sentence is requested twice and deleted after 75 days without use.
  • $6 per million characters list price.
