An AI front desk for home service businesses
Pay once, run it on your own computer, and keep it. What it handles, what it will not say, and what it costs.
What people ask home service businesses
When you are under a sink you cannot answer the phone. The agent answers the routine questions, books the visit into your calendar, reminds the customer the day before so fewer people are missing at the door, and can send a link so they can see when you are on the way.
- Can someone come today?
- How much to fix a leaking tap?
- Do you cover my postcode?
- Can I move my appointment?
- Is my technician on the way?
- I smell gas, what do I do?
What you get
- A keypad phone menu you edit yourself in the dashboard: "for hours press 1, to book press 2, for a person press 0".
- A local dashboard on your own computer, so your data stays with you. You test every reply before it goes out, and everything starts in practice mode that sends nothing until you press Go live.
- A private tracking link by text that updates itself as an order or job moves, so customers stop calling to ask.
- Answers from your own information first (hours, prices, menu, rules), instantly.
- Your own AI, if you want it. Connect a Claude or ChatGPT key and it answers from your business details, your documents and your website. When it keeps giving the same generic answer, you can turn that answer into an instant stored line (one click, or switch on auto-learning). It is voiced once, then replayed locally with no further AI or voice cost. Without a key it still follows your menu and workflows.
- Texts for callers who cannot hear, and patience for callers who stutter or speak slowly. This is covered by automated tests; we have not yet tested it with deaf callers, so try it on your own line first.
- Controls: approval cards, quiet hours, a daily limit per person, STOP honoured, and a Pause all sending switch.
The catalog holds 20 home service businesses bundles across 13 languages, up to 4,420 checked phrases in the biggest English one. Browse them on and hear a free 25-phrase sample of any bundle first.
What it will not do
It never promises a price or an arrival time that is not in your approved facts. For gas, flooding or fire it tells the caller to ring the local emergency number and gets a person involved.
When it needs a new line
The bundle covers the lines most businesses need. If your agent needs something that is not in it, the new line is voiced once through the Speakvora API at $3 per million characters. A typical 60-character line costs about two hundredths of a cent. Save it to your library and it is stored on your computer and plays again with no further charge, offline too. A line you do not save is voiced again each time it is used.
Test it before anything goes live
Everything starts in practice mode: the agent records what it would do and sends nothing until you press Go live. The Test my agent screen lets you type what a customer would text and shows the reply and every action it would take. If something goes wrong later, Pause all sending is a kill switch that stops all outgoing messages at once. See the full feature list.
Tutorials
The free course walks through the dashboard on a real agent: see the course. Industry-specific video tutorials are planned; we will link each one here when it is published, and none is published yet.
What it costs
$299 once per location with the agent (audio alone $99). After the first year you can pay $99 a year for updates and support, or not: what you downloaded keeps working. How that compares with monthly services, with sources, is on the cost and setup comparison and why choose Speakvora.
Who should look elsewhere
If you want someone else to run it and nothing on your own computer, if you need a live human to answer, or if you need compliance paperwork, a hosted or human service fits better. We say so on purpose.

Questions
How much does an AI front desk for home service businesses cost?
The home service businesses bundle with the agent is $299 once per location, with the first 12 months of updates and support included, then an optional $99 a year. Audio alone is $99. Speakvora charges no licence fee per call, per text or per minute. Your phone provider bills your calls and texts, and an AI key, if you add one, is billed by your AI provider. Using the Speakvora API for new lines or speech to text is pay as you go: $3 per million characters to voice a new line (a 60-character line costs about two hundredths of a cent), and once you save it to your library it is stored on your computer and replays at no further charge. Speech to text is $0.0015 a minute.
What will it not say for a plumber, electrician, cleaner or other home service business?
It never promises a price or an arrival time that is not in your approved facts. For gas, flooding or fire it tells the caller to ring the local emergency number and gets a person involved.
How long does it take to set up?
About 5 minutes from download to your first test, then about 15 minutes to connect a first service such as Slack, Teams or an Android phone. Texting through a US Twilio number also needs carrier approval, which can take days.
Does it run in the cloud?
No. The agent runs on your own computer, which has to be on for it to answer. When it is off or asleep, inbound Twilio calls are missed unless you set the optional call fallback; texts are retried by Twilio. If you want a hosted service with nothing on your own machine, a monthly AI receptionist is the simpler choice.
Which languages are there?
The home service businesses bundle exists in 13 languages. Non-English bundles are still waiting for native-speaker review, and Hindi is a preview. Voices are AI-generated, not human recordings.
