Build a phone menu: press 1 for hours, 3 for billing
Build your own phone menu in the dashboard: choose what each key does, connect a person or department, let callers say what they need, and test it by pretending to call.
The dashboard has a Phone menu builder in the Automations tab. You choose what callers hear and what each key does, without touching a file. It works on calls through Twilio and on calls through your existing office phone system.
1. Choose the keys
Each key (0 to 9) finishes the sentence "Press 3 ...", for example "for opening hours", "to book", "for billing". Then choose what it does: tell your opening hours, say a message you write, take a callback request (your team is told), connect your staff phone, or connect a number or an office-phone extension you choose, a person or a department.
2. Callers can speak too
On a call a caller can say "I need billing" instead of pressing a key. On an office phone connection the agent hears the caller until they pause and turns the words into text with Speakvora speech-to-text (about $0.0015 a minute); it needs your Speakvora key and works in English for now. The keypad always works.
3. A person is always one step away
Key 0, and the words "person", "human" or "manager", always reach a person. If you leave key 0 out the agent adds it. Two missed keys in a row connect a person. Card numbers and passwords are refused. In practice mode nothing is dialled.
4. Test it before a real customer calls
In Test my agent press Call in, then press a key or type what a caller might say. You see what the caller hears and where a transfer would go. Test your voice agent · Build your own workflows · Start your agent
Honest limits
Until you voice your greeting in your bundle voice (one press, a few Speakvora characters) callers hear your words in the phone provider's voice. A transfer to a department on an office phone system uses an extension; a full outside number works only if your phone system can dial it. We tested it on a real Asterisk phone system over plain and encrypted connections; Zoom Phone and other hosted systems have not been tested.
