A pharmacy voice agent for "is my prescription ready?"
Short answer: The agent asks the caller to verify, asks your own system whether the prescription is ready, and reads back only the one sentence your system returns. Refill and pickup requests are written down and handed to your team, and are never described as confirmed.
What it does
- Verifies before it says anything: the caller gives the details you choose (for example last name and date of birth) and your own endpoint decides who is verified.
- Reads aloud only the sentence your system returns, and shares nothing at all when verification fails.
- Passes on a refill or pickup request and tells the caller the team will follow up, never that it is confirmed.
- Declines medical questions (interactions, dosage) and takes a message for the pharmacist.
- Tells anyone describing an emergency to hang up and call 911.
How you set it up
- Start from the pharmacy template and replace every YOUR_ value.
- Build one small endpoint (status_url) that answers {"type": "status.lookup", ...} with {"verified": true, "status": "ready", "message": "Your prescription is ready at the counter."}.
- Set notify_url to receive refill and pickup requests as signed events.
- Publish and test with fake patients first.

Front-desk agents are $12 per 1,000 turns (a turn is one caller question and one spoken answer); basic agents are $10 per 1,000. At 3 to 4 turns a minute that is roughly $0.04 to $0.05 a minute (an estimate, not a measurement). The first 200 turns are free. Background office sounds are free.
Honest limits
- Turn by turn, not live streaming: expect a pause of a few seconds after the caller stops talking (shorter while our GPU lane is serving).
- No inbound phone numbers and no texting yet; confirmations go by email and to your own system by signed webhook.
- The agent only gathers and passes on information. It cannot change, refund, charge or delete anything in your systems, and it says it is an automated assistant.
- Speakvora does not sign HIPAA business associate agreements. If you handle protected health information, your own endpoint decides what is returned and you are responsible for it.
Questions
Does the agent see our patient database?
No. It only sends the verification details the caller said to your own endpoint and reads back the sentence that endpoint returns. We keep no record of lookups; refill requests are kept 90 days.
Is this HIPAA compliant?
Speakvora does not sign business associate agreements and is not a HIPAA-covered service. If you handle protected health information you are responsible for what your endpoint returns.
Can it refill a prescription?
No. It records the request and hands it to your team; nothing is refilled or charged by the agent.
Will it give medical advice?
No. It says a pharmacist will help and takes a message.
