An AI receptionist API that books appointments

Short answer: Speakvora's front-desk voice agent checks your real availability, books, moves and cancels appointments, finds a booking when the caller lost the code, and takes a message when it cannot help. No calendar login is needed.

What it does

  • Offers only times that are really open (your hours, your existing calendar's busy times, and what is already booked); a time is claimed with a conditional write, so two callers can never get the same slot.
  • Moves a booking in one all-or-nothing step: the new time is taken and the old one freed together.
  • Cancels with the confirmation code and the last four digits of the phone number, and frees the time for the next caller.
  • Finds a caller's booking from their full phone number when they lost the code.
  • Takes a message for the staff when it cannot help, and says honestly whether the message reached your system.

How you set it up

  1. Start from the doctor's office template or paste your website to get a draft agent (nothing is published for you).
  2. Set your hours, services, time zone and, if you want it, your existing calendar's private iCal address so those times are never offered.
  3. Publish. You get one endpoint per agent; call it with text or audio and play the reply sentence by sentence.
  4. Subscribe to the agent's own bookings feed (.ics) in Google, Apple or Outlook calendar.

Price

Front-desk agents are $12 per 1,000 turns (a turn is one caller question and one spoken answer); basic agents are $10 per 1,000. At 3 to 4 turns a minute that is roughly $0.04 to $0.05 a minute (an estimate, not a measurement). The first 200 turns are free. Background office sounds are free.

Honest limits

  • Turn by turn, not live streaming: expect a pause of a few seconds after the caller stops talking (shorter while our GPU lane is serving).
  • No inbound phone numbers and no texting yet; confirmations go by email and to your own system by signed webhook.
  • The agent only gathers and passes on information. It cannot change, refund, charge or delete anything in your systems, and it says it is an automated assistant.
  • Speakvora does not sign HIPAA business associate agreements. If you handle protected health information, your own endpoint decides what is returned and you are responsible for it.

Questions

Does it need access to my Google Calendar?

No. Give it your calendar's private iCal address so those times are never offered, and subscribe to the agent's bookings feed in your calendar app. No sign-in or OAuth permission is involved.

Can two people book the same time?

No. Each time slot is claimed with a conditional database write, and a failed claim tells the agent to check availability again.

How does the caller get a confirmation?

Every booking has a confirmation page and a calendar file. If you switch on email confirmations the caller is emailed; if you set a notify URL, your own system gets a signed event and can text or call back.

What does it cost?

$12 per 1,000 turns for front-desk agents, with 200 turns free.
